S'mores Dip

Trempette s'mores

Was it the nostalgia for summer, camping and kids around the campfire or the desire for comfort, to bring the family together around a good dessert that inspired this post? I remember presenting this recipe at the very first BBQ Camp, in 2016 and it is thanks to this experience that I wanted to become a teacher at BBQ Québec! This recipe is super easy to make. We revisit the concept of the good old chocolate fondue and we avoid having to prepare lots of these famous dessert sandwiches that we ask for again and again!

S'mores Dip

Serves 4-8 people

Preparation time: 15 min

Cooking time: 10 min

Ingredients :

- Approximately 300 grams of quality chocolate, dark or milk (pastilles, chips, bars)

crushed)

- Marshmallows

- Graham crackers

- Cut fruit for serving

- Whole graham crackers for serving

Preparation :

- Preheat the BBQ with an indirect zone, around 400°F or make an indirect zone on the campfire.

- Place the chocolate in the bottom of a cast iron pan, a baking dish or an aluminum plate.

- Cover with marshmallows.

- Crumble some graham crackers and spread them on top, among the marshmallows.

- Place in indirect heat and close the lid for about 10 minutes, or until the chocolate is melted and the marshmallows are golden brown. You can use the back burner of the BBQ or your Allumax to brown the marshmallows.

- Caution: avoid overcooking, otherwise the chocolate could become grainy.

- Pass out fondue forks and serve with fruit. Dip the cookies to stay true to traditional S'mores. Alternatively, the more adventurous might want to eat the dip straight from the spoon!

Find your inner child and enjoy your meal!
