The Super Bowl is just around the corner and I can't guarantee that eyes will be on the screens this year because this chicken wings recipe is incredible. What I love most about it is that it's simple, doesn't require much prep, and is sure to please everyone.
To start, mix 2 pounds of chicken wings with a jar of BBQ Québec Bourbon Maple Sauce and let marinate in the refrigerator all day.
On game night, coat each side of the wings with your favorite dry rub and preheat the BBQ to 225-400°F. *
Place your chicken wings on indirect cooking, then keep the BBQ closed during the cooking time. Make sure to reach 165°F in the center of the chicken, then you're done.
To top it all off, I suggest this blue cheese dip, which is perfect to serve with the wings. Just mix these ingredients together and keep it refrigerated until kickoff!
Servings: Approximately 48 full wings.
Preparation time: 4-12 hours (The longer you marinate, the better!)
Cooking time: Between 25 min to 2 h (Fast vs slow cooking)
Ingredients :
- 1 cup mayonnaise
- 3/4 cup blue cheese
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1/3 cup milk
- 1 green shallot, chopped into rounds
- Salt and pepper to taste
Good game!
* The lower the temperature during cooking, the more tender and juicy the wings will be. The most important thing is to increase the temperature of the BBQ during the last 5 minutes of cooking, around 450°F, so that the wings become crispy, while remaining in indirect cooking, to avoid burning them. A wing will take about 2 hours to cook at 225°F (for fanatics), 45 minutes at 300°F and 25 minutes at 400°F.
