Apple turnover

Chausson aux pommes

Serving: 1 large dessert to share! (Or not)

Preparation time: 15 min

Cooking time: 30 min

Ingredients :

  • 1 store-bought puff pastry
  • 2 apples of your choice
  • 1 palette of dark chocolate
  • Walnuts to taste
  • 1 egg
  • Cake Seasoning

Preparation :

  1. Preheat your BBQ to 350°F
  2. Unroll the puff pastry and make cuts on each side of the dough so you can close the turnover later!
  3. Peel and thinly slice the apples
  4. Place the apples in the center of the dough.
  5. Break the chocolate bar into medium pieces and spread over the apples with the nuts.
  6. Add Cake seasoning to taste.
  7. Close the turnover one side at a time to make a “braid” and brush the dough with the beaten egg.
  8. Add Cake spices on top and send to the BBQ for 30 minutes in indirect cooking! (Mine was made on a pellet smoker and the grills being close together I did not need to Cookina baking mat , but on a propane bbq it might be wise to use one!)
  9. Good dessert!
