Meatballs with hidden vegetables

Boulettes de viande aux légumes camouflés

Servings: 18 meatballs

For the meatballs:

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 small yellow onion
  • 1 green pepper
  • 2 large carrots
  • 1 handful of baby spinach
  • 1 clove of garlic
  • 1 egg
  • Montreal BBQ Quebec Dry Marinade to taste

For the sauce:

Preparation:

  1. In a food processor, combine onion, bell pepper, carrots, garlic and spinach. Blend until you have fine vegetable pieces.
  2. In a bowl, mix together ground beef, egg and vegetable mixture. Season with spices to taste.
  3. Make balls with the mixture and place them in a barbecue dish (I personally use a Pyrex dish).
  4. In another bowl, mix all the ingredients for the sauce and pour everything onto the meatballs.
  5. Cook the meatballs on the barbecue using indirect heat until the meatballs reach an internal temperature of 160°F.
  6. Serve.
