If you're a guy (or girl!) like me, watching food cook on the BBQ is mesmerizing.
Me, I'm someone who likes to play with fire, literally, so even if there's nothing cooking, I "check" the flames. It's beautiful to see it dance. But there... the reason why I'm telling you this is not because I "feel" poetic, it's because we're releasing something "hot" today. Yes sir! 😎
With our new product, you will be able to sit on your patio chair and watch your BBQ work even more than usual. You will have your own BBQ "show" at home! You may have seen me coming, the new accessory we are launching today is a rotisserie basket. And, because it is really the bomb, we even decided to call it the Rotiss-O-Max BBQ Québec . "Oh yeaaah!"🤘 (You will have understood, it is a rotisserie basket that "roasts", and not just a little. 😎 It is also a nice play on words with my name. 😜)
What is a Rotiss-O-Max used for?
The first use of a rotisserie basket is to simplify cooking. No need to rack your brains, everything is done by itself.
Technically, the way a rotisserie basket works is that you put food inside, and then you set the basket up on a rotisserie spit. You "set up" the whole thing over your BBQ and then let the food cook by rotating, slowly, not quickly, over the heat of your appliance. This means you don't have to manually turn your ingredients to ensure they cook evenly.
Then, along the same lines, because your food is continually turning, the "cooking juices", the fat from the food, comes into contact with the other pieces of meat or vegetables in the basket. So it's as if they were basting themselves; if they were giving each other flavor, and this, without sticking to each other. (It also reminds me that, unlike a fryer, you won't have to clean a basket full of oil afterwards. Let's be honest, you'll be very happy about that. 😜)
As they rotate, the ingredients also come into contact with the grid of the basket. What's interesting about this is that it gives them a little marking and a crispier side. If you put potatoes in the Rotiss-O-Max, for example, the outside of each strip will be a little crispy, then the inside soft, like a fry.
Yes, it is a slower cooking method, but it gives a perfect result. The ambient heat, as well as the basket itself, is of a high temperature, so the food cooks just enough.
Otherwise, it also allows you to maximize the potential of your BBQ without you having to make any effort. What I mean by that is that it allows you to do things that you couldn't do before. For example, you can smoke your food this way. You can also see your food cooking at all times. (You may even find yourself watching it more than you think!) And, by my calculations, always having an eye on your food will ensure that it will always be cooked to perfection. Another nice "plus" of this accessory.
Why did we decide to release this?
More and more, we see people using a rotisserie basket. It's a new trend that people like, so we thought we should release one with BBQ Québec quality. It's as simple as that.
How is ours really “on the mark”?
Our rotisserie basket, it is made of 304 steel. So it is really strong, durable, and rust resistant.
It also comes in 2 pieces, so it's super easy to store (the pieces snap together), set up and transport AND... it's compatible with any BBQ that can accommodate a rotisserie. (Which is really "hot"!)
It's also very easy to clean (it has flat tips instead of round ones, for example, which makes things easier) and can even be used as a storage space for utensils or jars of dry marinades.
In fact, if I may, I would even say that the version we have in the store now, well, it is superior to our prototype. When we use a tool and want to test it, we are "rough" with it, so I can assure you that it is a solid product that we offer you.
What do I like the most?
There are actually quite a few things that make me trip on the Rotiss-O-Max.
- This is a super easy accessory to use.
- There are a ton of things you can do with it. (For example, bake potatoes, chicken wings, fries [shout out to my famous “ poutin fries ” which are really great in this!], vegetables, shrimp… the list goes on!)
- It gives me pleasure, because it allows me to cook differently; to use another cooking method.
- It gives me one more reason to use my rotisserie.
What is best done with the Rotiss-O-Max?
I listed a "couple" of things above, but I would say this accessory is definitely a "must" for potatoes and chicken wings. It makes for some truly amazing results.
Otherwise, it also does a great job with asparagus and shrimp.
Pretty much anything can be cooked with this… I haven't even finished experimenting myself! 😜
