Are you tired of watching the snow fall and looking forward to summer? Why not bring it forward a few weeks by inviting friends over for a winter barbecue?

If you prepare properly for this outdoor picnic, it can create a very enjoyable moment. So you will repeat the experience and enjoy barbecue food, even in winter! Follow these tips and your guests will want to come back again and again.

1- Prepare the location

The first thing to do is to clear the snow from the barbecue as well as the table, chairs or benches so as not to leave any damp areas, which could cause falls.

2- Dress warmly

Warn your guests to dress warmly if you don't want them to hunker down inside while you cook your food. Have extra scarves, hats and gloves on hand in case your guests forget them.

3- Create an atmosphere

In order to encourage your guests to stay outside, it is important to create a warm and friendly atmosphere. To do this, you can install lanterns or outdoor lights. Playing music is always a great way to create an atmosphere.

If you have them, you can place sheepskins on the chairs or benches or even take out blankets. You can also use a patio heater to make sure you don't get cold. You can also cut the wind by installing a canvas to protect your guests.

4- Hot drinks to warm up

To help your friends forget the cold, you can serve hot drinks as an aperitif, such as hot cider, mulled wine, hot apple juice, hot milk or even hot chocolate for those with a sweet tooth. And why not heat marshmallows directly on the barbecue?

After the aperitif, serve a soup as a starter, it will warm the hearts of your guests!

5- Hot accompaniments

Opt for hot sides like grilled vegetables or potato gratin instead of salad and bread, and do it all on the barbecue!
