Provincial ambassador for BBQ Québec, Pierre-Luc wasn't always someone who liked to eat well. In fact, it was quite the opposite...

“When I was young, I was the pickiest guy on Earth, all I ate was peanut butter toast! That changed around age 14 when my dad started smoking on the BBQ and his little smoker. That's when I started getting interested in different kinds of meat.”

However, it was an unfortunate event that changed Pierre-Luc's life forever: the death of his mother.

“When my mother passed away, my father bought me a big barbecue, I was 24 then, and that was really the trigger. I started eating different kinds of meat and fish and making my own pizzas on the BBQ. By making my own food, I started eating better.”

His passion for barbecue was such that he started making custom smokers and started buying barbecues to get to know them better and then resell them. "I must have bought and resold 25 of them!"

All-In-One
He then created his own company BBQ AAA and had the idea to invent the All-In-One, an accessory that transforms a Kettle into a smoker, a pizza oven or even a tandoori oven and much more. It even supports rotisseries!

It was while wanting to buy tools for his barbecue such as a rotisserie and accessories for making pizzas, and being refused by his wife when he mentioned the total amount of the bill, that he had the idea of ​​creating the All-In-One.

"I spent my entire parental leave inventing the All-In-One. After several prototypes, I found the right formula, but my wife wasn't too happy..." It was by going to sell the idea of ​​his creation to the BBQ Québec boutique in Boucherville that Pierre-Luc was able to connect with BBQ Québec.

“When I arrived for our meeting, he was busy. I waited and waited and after an hour, the meeting was still not over, I went to see him and suggested that I sell products to customers while waiting. He saw that I was doing well and that I was serious, I showed him my invention and after that day, he offered me the position of Provincial Ambassador at BBQ Québec.”

  • Your BBQ? A Weber Kettle 26''. I like it because it's more massive and bigger than the 22'' and it keeps the temperature even. I also like that it has a stainless steel grill.
  • Favorite place to BBQ? At home around my pool in the summer with friends and family.
  • Who are you barbecuing for? Everyone! My family, my friends, my neighbors! Some friends even drive an hour to come eat brisket!
  • How often do you BBQ? 7 to 15 times a week.
  • Your favorite spices? I love them all! My father founded Watkins Spices which offers over 125 kinds, so for me, every spice has its purpose.
  • Do you eat spicy food? Yes when my wife is not around! 3/5..
  • Meat or fish? Meat! I'm a carnivore! I love pork and beef.
  • Your BBQ specialty? I would say ribs and pizza.
  • What does a Friday night look like for you? A bottle of wine with friends and a good BBQ!
  • Where do you see yourself in 5 years? Traveling around the world to promote BBQ Québec and All-In-One.
  • Your best BBQ memory? Our 10th position chicken at L'Américan Royal as well as the victory at the HPBA show for the best BBQ accessory with the All-in-1.
