One of our Facebook subscribers has the chance to publish a recipe on our website following the “Featured Customer of the Month for March” contest. Joe Gendron presents us with a banana and cranberry bread with Gâteau seasoning cooked on the grill!

Ingredients :
-375 ml (1 1/2 cups) flour
-5 ml (1 tsp) baking powder
-310 ml (1 1/4 cups) mashed ripe bananas (3 to 4 bananas)
-125 ml (1/2 cup) of milk
-125 ml (1/2 cup) softened margarine
-250 ml (1 cup) brown sugar
-2 eggs
-5 ml (1 tsp) vanilla extract
-125 ml (1/2 cup) cranberries
-5 ml (1 tsp) of Quebec BBQ Cake seasoning
Preparation :
-Preheat the BBQ to 180°C (350°F).
-Butter a 23 x 13 cm (9 x 5 in) loaf pan.
-In a bowl, mix the flour and baking powder. Set aside.
-In a separate bowl, beat together the margarine and brown sugar for about 1 minute, until the mixture turns pale. Add the eggs and vanilla, then beat until smooth. Add the mashed bananas and beat with a wooden spoon.
-Add the dry ingredients and the milk, alternating.
-Spread the dough in the mold.
-Cook on the BBQ using indirect cooking for about 1 hour or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
-Leave to cool before unmolding, slicing and enjoying!
