Menu for entertaining at Christmas

Menu pour recevoir à Noël - BBQ Québec

First of all, if you are looking for new recipes for the holiday season, I want to tell you that I do not claim to be a chef, you can find them in abundance on several websites, in magazines, on television throughout the year and especially as the holidays approach. However, if you want to impress the family this year I suggest you devour the E-Book that BBQ Québec has put online, original ideas, different but above all delicious. I had the chance to taste each of the creations of our national JP Lavoie during a Christmas dinner, the Wagyu cretons, are among others, to die for and what can I say about the grilled Bubbles.

I have always loved entertaining and for me, any occasion is good to open a good bottle of bubbles with the people I love to celebrate and highlight any event.

Life goes so fast that you have to manage to take some time out and spend some quality time with family, friends, in short, the people you appreciate and who surround you.

Obviously, as the holiday season approaches, there are often more opportunities for us to get together. Yes, there is the headache of coordinating dinners, lunches and brunches if, like me, you are a blended family. The 24th is the most popular date on the calendar, so you have to be creative to see everyone. So we embark on a marathon of meals, each more festive than the last.

If you are hosting for the holidays, you know as well as I do that it is all about good planning, we can never say it enough. Preparing in advance helps to considerably reduce the stress related to hosting several people. In addition, we avoid forgetting small details and having to rush at the last minute. My ultimate goal is to be completely ready an hour before the visit arrives with a glass of wine in hand.

Here is what I am offering you this year for people who are not used to using their BBQ in the winter. Why not use it and bring a little summer warmth to your New Year's Eve. Let's not hide it, even if more and more people use their BBQ 12 months a year, there is still a large majority of people for whom the BBQ is only linked to the beautiful days of summer.

There are a multitude of very easy recipes that can be cooked on your BBQ. Your BBQ can even serve as a warmer for your turkey, your side dishes and even your desserts.

If you can, bring it close to a door that communicates with the outside. Clear the space around it, I am sure that the majority of your guests will want to go see what is hidden under it out of curiosity.

Here is a menu idea to receive with the help of your BBQ. All the suggestions are taken from our magazine Culture BBQ, the recipe book BBQ au Max and the latest recipe book by Max and JP, Lavoie du BBQ. If you do not have these 3 literary successes, I recommend that you get them quickly or ask Santa Claus for them, if you have been good of course. However, Santa Claus may keep these gifts for himself, they are snapped up in all the gift exchanges.

For a different starter, I recommend you try:

Brie with apples and smoked almonds (p.144) BBQ at the Max )

For the turkey you will impress your guests with the juicy turkey ( Lavoie du BBQ p.55)

As an accompaniment, favorite Asparagus p.182 of the book BBQ lane )

And to finish in style:

Maple Unemployed Pudding and Hot Smoked Ice Cream ( BBQ Culture Magazine) p. 33) from our dessert specialist, Julie Perron.

By browsing through the 2 recipe books as well as the Magazine, you will be inspired by a multitude of other recipes, each more original than the last.

Finally, for me, the advantage that I prefer when I cook on my BBQ in winter is that my glass of Champagne always stays cool.

Happy BBQ and above all happy holidays!
