Decadent Mac n' Cheese with Prosciutto and Bedouin Cheese
Because we should always have a good mac n' cheese recipe on hand as the cold days approach, I'm sharing my decadent recipe with prosciutto and cheese from Fromages le Bédouin.
Ingredients
- 3 tbsp butter
- ¼ cup milk
- 4 good tbsp of creamy Labneh cheese from Le Bédouin cheeses
- 1 Akawi cheese fromthe Bedouin cheeses
- 8 slices of prosciutto
- 3 cups of pasta of your choice (preferably pasta with holes so the sauce can fit in)
- Tex Max BBQ spices Quebec , to taste
- 2 green onions
Steps
- Heat a cast iron skillet on the BBQ over direct heat
- Once the pan is hot, melt 2 tbsp of butter
- Transfer the pan to indirect cooking
- Cook the prosciutto at about 400°F over indirect heat for about 5 minutes.
- Set aside
- Add the milk to the pan with the butter
- Add the creamy Labneh cheese and the Akawi cheese cut into small cubes.
- Mix everything together, so that the cheese begins to melt. There should be small pieces of Akawi left.
- Add the previously cooked pasta
- Then sprinkle with Tex Max spices
- Remove the pan from the BBQ and crumble the prosciutto
- Add green onions as garnish, and serve!
*We added the Quebec BBQ chicken wings available at IGA in the presentation, for a perfect meal!
