Valleyfield dry marinade, a tribute to Valleyfield grills

La marinade sèche Valleyfield, un éloge aux grillades de Valleyfield

O Valleyfield, my beautiful Valleyfield.

This city, it conquered me. Well yes! It had me with its grills, its regattas, and its beautiful people. 😍

So I wanted to pay tribute to him by giving new life to his famous grilling spices. But… you must have guessed, you can take out a seasoning from Valleyfield (Salaberry-de-Valleyfield, its full name), but not Valleyfield seasoning. So I had no choice but to create a 2.0 version of these spices if I wanted to introduce them to you.

So I based my version on the original recipe, but I decided to “pimp” it up so that mine was even better. To be honest, the Valleyfield dry rub I created tastes really, really, really good. 👌

Valleyfield Grills

“What are Valleyfield grills?” you might ask?

Well, first of all, you should know that the Campivallensiens (the name for the inhabitants of Valleyfield) really like to grill their food at extreme heat in a grill pan. Valleyfield grills are therefore thick slices of pork belly that are not injected and not very salty and are seasoned, then grilled at high heat. And to give you an idea of the thickness, imagine bacon slices, but REAL slices here, not the ones you find in the grocery store. It's super good. 😋

It was by tasting these grilled foods, the "OG" grills from Valleyfield, that I fell in love. I ate a lot of them, I gained a few pounds, and I said to myself "I have to make something that will taste as good, or even better"! 😳

From that moment on, I was on a mission. I had to make magic, for the pleasure of everyone's taste buds. 🦸‍♂️

The taste of Valleyfield dry marinade

If you are familiar with Valleyfield Grills, you know that people are not allowed to tell you what is in the spice mix. It is a top secret recipe. Like the secret of Caramilk or Big Mac sauce. 👀

So I would feel bad about revealing my discoveries to you. I'm like a magician, I can't reveal my tricks to you. 🤐

On the other hand, I can tell you that the Valleyfield BBQ Québec dry marinade tastes like heaven! Seriously, it's really the bomb. It perfectly balances its taste, both sweet and a little spicy, with its notes of smoked salt and paprika. It's not easy to describe it because it's really unique. Even its grains are finer than those in the other dry marinades I've developed! 🙈

Preferred marriages

Although it was specially designed for grilling Valleyfield, the Valleyfield dry marinade is just as delicious with pork, chicken, salmon, shrimp and seafood. 🥰

To really trip it out, I recommend sprinkling it especially on your pork chops, chicken wings or whole chicken. Mmmm! 🤤

The ultimate use

If you want to taste the best grilled meats in the world, put Valleyfield dry marinade on your piece of meat, then grill it in the Capt'n Cook .

Once your meat is ready, baste it with Pikanté Maple Sauce , then let your taste buds be tingled with the sweet combination of flavors when you take a bite. 🤩

Either way, however you decide to use it, one thing is for sure, you're going to love it. I'm telling you, it's one of the best mixes I've ever made! 🏆

I can't wait to hear what you think!

Happy BBQ!
