For the occasion, we present to you an interview with Ariane, General Manager and Co-President, Business Development at BBQ Québec.
Ariane, why did BBQ Québec decide to partner with Ferme Monette, a company that works in the field of hunting and fishing?

There were so many reasons! The first is that we really fell in love with Stéphane, because of his work ethic, because he is as passionate as we are, it was a natural fit for us. His temperament is similar to that of Max and JP, we knew we were made to get along well! For us it is important to combine pleasure with business development. Stéphane is a brilliant guy, pleasant to be around and not only an expert in his field, but also a trained cook!
The second reason is that a large part of our clientele of BBQ enthusiasts are also fans of the outdoors, of going out to the cottage, of camping, in short, they love being outside! These interests overlap with the hunters and fishermen who follow Stéphane, who also love good food, quality products and coming together around a common passion.
Finally, Ferme Monette, like BBQ Québec, is a leader in its field, and their expertise and credibility are definitely an asset that makes them extraordinary partners.
What was the objective of this collaboration?

We wanted to offer inspiring, educational content that contributes to our approach to healthy BBQ, coming from our concern for both taste and the impact that our diet has on our body and the environment, in addition to being in the needs of our customers, all this in collaboration with someone whose expertise is complementary to ours. By pooling our fields of expertise, we wanted to be able to share our knowledge with our respective audiences, popularize what we know in the field of BBQ and combine it with Stéphane's experience in the field of hunting.
Why is it important for BBQ Québec to partner with 1) Quebec 2) family businesses like Ferme Monette?

I have a somewhat clichéd proverb in mind, but it says: "alone we go faster, together we go further." So for us, collaborations allow us to really build our brand with our customers, with our partners. We want to build our business in a beautiful way, organically, by creating synergies with other companies. We find that partnering with local companies is a great way to grow our business, by investing with Quebec SMEs that are experiencing challenges and issues similar to ours.

And family because as much as with us, Stéphane makes decisions based on similar values, it is really a plus for the collaboration. Stéphane works with his father, his sister and his son, he understands our reality, which is a very particular reality that few people live. It is a choice that we made to work with our family, with all the advantages and challenges that this entails, and he made the same choice. We make decisions with our family in mind, which adds an even greater human aspect to our association.
What are the common aspects in your corporate visions and values?

As I mentioned before, it's the love of the outdoors, good food, the mix of family and business. They are also determined people who are committed to creating innovative products, as well as relevant content to create value for their customers and a unique experience and be a leader in their industry. They are also generous and welcoming people with a heart.
And finally, what can you tell us about what’s coming from this collaboration?

I can't reveal everything that's coming, but what I can tell you is that it will be a long-term collaboration. There will be 3 phases that will gradually come to fruition during 2020, with the first phase being deployed by the end of March! I can tell you that we have several great projects coming up, with completely new content for BBQ Québec! We can't wait!
