When it comes to inventing something to maximize the use of a BBQ and cooking, my brother and I are always on the project.
You probably know this, but with the All-in-1 , the cooking possibilities you can do with your kettle are almost endless, and… they will be even more so thanks to the new feature I'm going to present to you today! (I say that, but our new accessory can also be used without the All-in-1. 😉)
Oh yes my friends, it's finally the launch day of our famous BBQ Quebec Fire Ring ! 🎉
It's what?
No, it's not a fire ring like at the circus; it's a sturdy metal ring that comes with 5 stainless steel skewers that are used to make the best kebabs/skewers of your life on the BBQ! By the way, whether the lid of your appliance is open or closed when cooking, you will have equally beautiful and good results.
Why did we create this?
We decided to make our own "skewer kit" because we noticed that more and more people are into cooking super big kebabs on their BBQ with lots of meat on one skewer, vegetables on another, and even bread on a third. We thought that there was something missing to make it easier to do on a kettle, however, because the skewers must not burn, or even turn by themselves during cooking.
We wanted to make sure to develop something that would give you all the cooking options possible on 22” kettle BBQs, and even on All-in-1s placed directly over a fire. (Because, let’s face it, it’s possible, basically, to make churrasco on the All-in-1, but it’s not necessarily easy. 😩)
It's always fun to make skewers, but kettles are round. So either your skewer/kebab sticks out about 8" from your BBQ or it falls to the bottom. 😣 To avoid that, we designed a set that comes with skewers of different sizes. And there really is something for every possible food size! The center skewer is longer, so you can, for example, garnish it with meat, then put vegetables on the shorter ones on the sides, or alternate meat skewers/vegetable skewers in your placement.
The skewers themselves, firstly, they are not made of wood, so you are sure that they will not burn on the BBQ, and secondly, they are large, so you can put a lot of "stock" on them. The one in the middle, in particular, can hold 1 kebab, 1 pork fillet or chicken breasts or thighs, and the others, sausages, fruit (apple wedges covered in maple syrup would go very well with the pork skewer! 👌), onion cubes... whatever you want! The only things you will have to think about is to remember to put the skewer with what takes the longest to cook first in the ring and to remember to turn the skewers from time to time. 😉
Who is the Ring of Fire for?
There are quite a few people who can benefit from our great accessory: all those who have 22” kettles or All-in-1s; and to these people, we add in addition those who like to explore new cooking techniques. Honestly, it’s really cool to cook our food in a different way; it brings a lot of pleasure.
To that, I would also add that if you don't have a kettle, etc., you can always use the skewers alone in your gas BBQ for example.
How to use our accessory?
To put the Ring of Fire to work, it's not complicated. You place the ring on your kettle/All-in-1 BBQ, preheat your appliance, then prepare your food. (I'm allowing myself a small digression on this, because if you plan on leaving the food to cook uncovered, I advise you to preheat your BBQ to a temperature where your charcoal will not be too hot. You should be able to keep your hand over the heat source for about 4-5 seconds. If you prefer to close the lid of your BBQ while cooking, a temperature of 300-400 °F would do the job well.)
When they are ready, you slide them onto the skewers, then place the skewers in the right place (depending on their length) on the ring. Be careful! You don't add them all at once; you go according to what takes the longest and the shortest time to cook.
You then let the heat do its work and cook your food with the lid open or closed, taking care to turn the skewers every 2 to 4 minutes. The result you will obtain will be a bit like what you would have had with cooking on an old-fashioned Japanese BBQ, that is to say that it is really the charcoal that will cook your food.
Another way to use the Fire Ring is to place the center skewer in the ring, then hang the other skewers on it to get a different type of cooking (but this is really easier with an All-in-1, because the skewers will be further from the embers). Otherwise, as I said earlier, you can also use the skewers alone, and this is true whether you have any type of BBQ.
Why do you need this product?
Once again, this accessory really completes the wheel of everything you can do with a kettle if you already have the other stuff. It makes it super easy to explore new and really interesting and interactive ways of cooking. For me, it's really the perfect way to try "real kebabs".
Finally, it's not just your taste buds that will benefit. Your family will too, because cooking will be like a "show". 👀
How is our set different?
Honestly, there is no similar product on the market. It is an affordable product that allows you to do all kinds of cooking on a kettle/all-in-1 and comes with stainless steel skewers. The skewers are durable, easy to maintain and do not allow any possible contamination, which is a good plus to mention.
What do I like most about the Ring of Fire?
The features of the product are cool, but what I like the most is the social aspect it brings. People can make their own skewers, see what's grilling, interact with the cooking... And when everything is ready, they can share everything and enjoy lots of different pieces of food. It's a bit like recreating an all-you-can-eat barbecue buffet to share the pieces among themselves.
Any meal ideas to make?
I've been saying it for a while now, you can do a lot of business with it! So I have no choice but to give you some ideas to prove it to you. 😜
Personally, I think I would opt for 3 skewers of meat in the center (1 beef, 1 chicken and 1 pork or lamb), then I would put vegetables or fruits that go well with the meats in "sauce" mode on the other 2. After that, I would serve everything as is on the plate, "old-fashioned", in pieces, like they served vegetables grilled over the fire back in the day.
Alternatively, skewers can be cooked in a more traditional way. That is, you slice, for example, several chicken thighs into thin slices and stack them all on top of each other on a skewer; like the meats you find in Lebanese restaurants on a shawarma machine. You let your skewers cook for a long time, turning them every 2-3 minutes, then after, you cut them into pieces on your plate. You will see, your meat will be super juicy, moist and tender. Mmmm!
In short, whether you want to eat skewers, kebabs or other things, our accessory is here to help you achieve it! And… seriously, trying it is adopting it, so I can't wait to know what you think! 😊
Happy BBQ!
