To celebrate the sugaring off season, what could be better than a good maple apple butter! To put on your toast, ice cream or even on a pork tenderloin!
Yield: 250 ml
Preparation time: 5 min
Cooking time: 30 min (or until very soft)
Makes about 250 ml apple butter
Ingredients:
- 10 large McIntosh apples
- Quebec BBQ Cake Seasoning (to taste)
- 1/2 cup maple syrup
- Peel the apples and roll them in the Cake Spice Seasoning until they are coated with spices.
- Place them in the charcoal BBQ indirectly at 400F. Add some maple wood chips.
- Let the apples cook for about 30 minutes or until they become soft.
- Remove them from the BBQ and remove the core from each apple.
- Place the apples with the maple syrup in a blender and blend until smooth.
- This apple butter can be enjoyed on toast, as a topping, on yogurt or even as a sauce with a pork tenderloin!
