Maple Smoked Apple Butter

To celebrate the sugaring off season, what could be better than a good maple apple butter! To put on your toast, ice cream or even on a pork tenderloin!

Yield: 250 ml

Preparation time: 5 min

Cooking time: 30 min (or until very soft)


Makes about 250 ml apple butter

Ingredients:

  • 10 large McIntosh apples
  • Quebec BBQ Cake Seasoning (to taste)
  • 1/2 cup maple syrup
Preparation:
  1. Peel the apples and roll them in the Cake Spice Seasoning until they are coated with spices.
  2. Place them in the charcoal BBQ indirectly at 400F. Add some maple wood chips.
  3. Let the apples cook for about 30 minutes or until they become soft.
  4. Remove them from the BBQ and remove the core from each apple.
  5. Place the apples with the maple syrup in a blender and blend until smooth.
  6. This apple butter can be enjoyed on toast, as a topping, on yogurt or even as a sauce with a pork tenderloin!
