Description

Loic started in the BBQ world at Matériaux Lavoie in Lévis in 2014.

This company, owned by the parents of our founders, Max and JP Lavoie, is part of his childhood; it was the hardware store in his neighborhood.

All the renovations in his parents' house were done with tools and materials from Matériaux Lavoie.

In 2014, BBQ Québec was going to open its first store in Ste-Foy, Matériaux Lavoie was therefore going to lose its advisors for the seasonal products area and the BBQ area.

So Loic and his friends started working for them since they were looking for a job.

This job developed a passion in him; a passion for cooking and a passion for grilling. He was able to develop his skills by perfecting the sale of outdoor kitchens which requires more technical skills.

He went to train as a carpenter to be able to read and assemble plans, and thus better advise clients on their outdoor kitchen projects.

In 2018, he moved to the greater Montreal metropolitan area and joined the Boucherville store where he shares his passion for grilling with his colleagues and customers.

It continues to be THE reference for outdoor kitchens at BBQ Québec!

BBQ PROFILE

  • Your BBQ? On my terrace I have an American Muscle Grill BBQ that I love for its versatility and build quality.
  • Favorite place to BBQ? I mostly BBQ at home, on my terrace.
  • Who do you BBQ for? I mainly BBQ for my girlfriend and my friends.
  • How often do you BBQ? I try to BBQ as often as possible. Definitely at least 5 times a week, sometimes more.
  • Your favorite spices? My favorite spices are Argentina, Malabar Steak and Jamaican Jerk. I love BBQ Québec spices whatever they are.
  • Do you eat spicy food? I don't really eat spicy food. I would say about a 1-2 out of 5 (where 5 is the spiciest)
  • Meat or fish? 50/50, Meat regularly (steaks, pork, chicken) otherwise a good fresh fish, but especially seafood (lobster, crab, shrimp)
  • Your BBQ specialty? Steak remains a great classic for me. Nothing beats a good evening with friends with a good steak cooked on the BBQ.
  • What does a Friday night look like to you? I usually work on Friday nights. However, I try to make every night feel like a Friday night. So when I get home, I have a drink and then I eat some good food later.
  • Where do you see yourself in 5 years? Definitely still at BBQ Québec. I want to see BBQ Québec grow in the coming years.
  • Your best BBQ memory? One of my BBQ highlights is the Christmas parties with Matériaux Lavoie with the gang from work. Lots of fun, good food and great people. What more could you ask for?
