BBQ has been a part of Alexandre's life since he was little. He remembers cooking delicious steaks and skewers on the grill with his family many times. To congratulate him on getting good grades in secondary 4, his grandfather even gave him his first propane BBQ. Clearly, Jacques is the best grandpa! It goes without saying that his love for this cooking method has only grown over time.
In fact, Alexandre has always had a penchant for the world of gastronomy. He studied restaurant management at ITHQ and even worked there, and that's in addition to 10 years of experience in the restaurant world as a cook, server and manager. Preparing good food and serving customers is therefore in his DNA.
Following the pandemic and the closure of restaurants, however, Alexandre had to reorient himself a little. So he jumped at the opportunity he was offered: to become assistant manager at the BBQ Québec boutique in Boucherville. With his knowledge of the restaurant industry and his love of BBQ, the “fit” seemed very natural. Over the years, Alexandre continued to grow in the company: he then became manager of the Montreal boutique, and finally, coordinator of supplies and inventories.
Alexandre has always loved learning new BBQ techniques and recipes to perfect his art, but it was really while working at BBQ Québec that he realized the extent of BBQ culture and how much interesting stuff there is to know. Since he's been here, his interest in this "world of fire" has continued to grow. He doesn't yet consider himself as having the knowledge of a seasoned "pitmaster" like Max and JP, but... "watch out", his prosciutto and bufarella pizza cooked on the All-in-1 is hard to beat!
Working at BBQ Québec, for Alexandre, is having the chance to help grow a very nice Quebec company that trusts its employees, to cook at the BBQ for his lunch hour, to make friends with people who love food, to have fun, and, to always discover new ways of doing things. Basically, it's working without realizing it because it's so enjoyable.
