Well yes! Today is the launch day of our brand new accessory: the BBQ Québec Smash Burger Press ! So… it’s going to be even more “smash” where you live! 😎
I say that, but you might be wondering "what is a smash burger?" Let me explain!
A "smash burger" is a burger with an ultra thin and crispy patty. 🍔 And to flatten the patty, you must have guessed it by now, you have to use a press. With our Smash Burger Press, you will therefore make mega thin and sexy patties. 👌
Where did the idea come from?
More and more Quebecers want to make burgers that are out of the ordinary and similar to the traditional American "smash burgers". So, the idea came from the fact that more and more of us want to "smash" burgers, quite simply.
On the other hand, I also take this opportunity to give a shout out to Simon de L'Est, who, with his canteen, Chez Simon Cantine Urbaine, put Montreal on the map as a destination for "smash burgers". Seriously, it's going strong. 🤘
The craze for Simon's canteen also allowed us to see that there were not just 15 of us in Quebec who wanted to eat good crushed burgers. So, with that in mind, we started testing all the possible spatulas and presses to create a product that would be durable and that would work well.
How to use our press?
To use our press, it's not complicated. You form your meatball, season it, place it on a very hot baking sheet, place the Smash Burger Press on top of it, then crush it by pressing down on the handle. "That's it." 💯
One thing that's important to mention, too, is that you can even use it to make other things than "smash burgers" ! Yes, yes! This little press is pretty handy! 😜
Indeed, it is also used to flatten and grill slices of ham and bacon . By placing it on your meats, you prevent them from "curling" during cooking and make them absorb more heat, therefore grilling more. You will then obtain beautiful flat and uniform pieces. (In fact, you can crush whatever you want with this , as long as it is on a griddle. [Because, yeah, on the grills of your BBQ, it might be a little harder to get your food out. 😜])
Depending on the result you want to have, you can "press" the food with our press or place it on top of them.

The finish on the steel is also non-stick, so you don’t have to put a sheet of wax paper over your meatball or grease the steel; the meat will just come off the press on its own. (If you’re making 100 patties in a row, that might be a different story though. 🤪)
And… speaking of the stainless steel part, we made sure our press “looks” as well. So… we put our flame logo on it to make it even more obvious that this is a “fire” product. 😎 No but, pun aside, our press will seriously help you make the best “smash burgers” ON EARTH. 🔝

What I like the most
It's simple, what I prefer about our press is "everything"! With it, I can make "smash burgers" whenever I want! I want to eat them every week? It's not a problem! I want to make a breakfast burger? I flatten my patty, I add an egg between my 2 buns, a little sauce, and BOOM! I'm in business. 😋
Plus, my press will always look brand new, so I can't ask for anything more.
