The Weber Summit Charcoal is a great high-end product, but it was so powerful that sometimes, in terms of price, it was less accessible for some barbecue enthusiasts. So the company listened to its consumers and created a more optimal and above all much more accessible version of the product.
The big differences between the Weber Summit Charcoal that has been on sale for the past 5 years and the tableless version of the Weber Kamado Summit is that this new version does not have a propane igniter and the heat diffuser is now single wall instead of double. While they are just as sturdy, the wheels have been changed and the three built-in accessory hooks have been removed.
In addition to these two modifications, Weber has of course kept the incredible double-walled bowl naturally insulated by the air chamber, the 24-inch stainless steel grill with gourmet center and the grill height adjustment system for charcoal.
For those interested in this quality barbecue, but who want to have the cart and the igniter, Weber has also thought of you. There is a version of the Weber Kamado Summit with cart which remains essentially the same as the original version, but without the trash can, the small basket to put charcoal as well as the heat diffuser which is now single instead of double. The company has therefore decided to keep the igniter in the version with cart.
The biggest difference between these two very high quality products is undoubtedly the price . By making a few small changes, Weber has managed to attack the market with a machine of a quality as high as the other Kamado available, but with a much more competitive price.
The Weber Kamado Summit is now $1399.99 instead of $1999.99 like the Weber Summit Charcoal .
The Weber Kamado Summit Cart version retails for $2,299.99 compared to $2,499.99 for the original version .
